In a bid to get more people streaming original TV shows wherever they are, Netflix have launched a new website to help make sure you are able to do so.

Fast.com Is a bare bones website that simply shows the current speed you're getting from whatever connection you are using, 3G, 4G, or WiFi and nothing else.

It works on mobile and desktop. So far, we haven't encountered any problems on any device we have tried to use it on. There are no apps to install and no sign up needed.

The minimum data speeds required to stream Netflix are; 3.0Mbps for standard definition, 5.0Mbps for HD, and 25.0Mbps for the people who pay a little bit more for UHD.

It can be a little bit frustrating when you download Netflix and sign in only to find out you are having issues streaming. checking your data speeds before trying and getting annoyed..

And the benefit for Netflix? Most people won't realize what the minimum speeds required are. People will also assume that, for High Definition streaming you will need a high speed broadband connection. Netflix are hoping to turn people on to the fact that almost all of us are capable of HD streaming wherever we are.
